Building Your Green Business Networks

Like many, you may find the process of implementing a sustainable business strategy a completely new challenge from business as usual. There is much uncertainty for business as it responds to the challenges and opportunities of climate change: legislation, technologies and solutions are constantly evolving and finding the right partners, suppliers and customers is no longer straight forward.

Sustainable business strategies require fresh combinations of new technologies and stakeholders working together to form different networks and supply chains.

At 2degrees we call these networks green business networks and our mission is to help our members build these, thereby giving them both the knowledge and contacts to drive forward their sustainable business strategy.

Billerud

Protect your natural interests
- Can you afford to do anything else?
Billerud

Every year in Europe, fruit and vegetables worth around 10 billion euro go to waste. A large part of this waste is due to sub-standard packaging, that cannot withstand the strains of the long journey and handling from grower to retailer. Billerud offers improved packaging, optimised selection of materials, measurement of quality during transportation and regular tests at Billerud Box Lab, in order to substantially reduce losses linked to poor packaging in the value chain. This is where everyone wins – including the environment.

Billerud is a packaging paper company. The company’s business concept is to offer customers packaging material and solutions that promote and protect their products – packaging that is attractive, strong and made of renewable material. Billerud has a world-leading position within several product segments, both within paper for consumer packaging and for industrial applications.

Several of the markets and value chains where Billerud is active offer opportunities for new approaches. By using a strong position across segments, Billerud can provide customers with more comprehensive packaging solutions. Billerud works closely with customers, designers, printers and machine manufacturers to continuously create new solutions and services.

dcarbon8      Planet Positive

A product, person or business is Planet Positive if it has measured and verified a net positive impact on the planet, its ecosystems, and its people.

dcarbon8 Ltd is an environmental and carbon solutions company established to help businesses reduce GHG emissions and stimulate responsible carbon management throughout the supply chain.

dcarbon8 has created a unique system that enables businesses to collect carbon credits from their supply chains and transfer them to their valued customers and eventually to the end consumer. This acts as a catalyst for corporations to work collaboratively; to build knowledge and influence on carbon matters, and stimulate business and customer loyalty. This process also creates real reductions in the release of GHGs into the atmosphere.

dcarbon8 has developed Planet PositiveTM, a new mark of certification to global best practice standards in consultation with our consulting partner, Environmental Resources Management (ERM) and our 3rd party assurance providers KPMG.

Our delegates will be pleased to meet you at the conference.

Dipetane

DIPETANE FUEL TECHNOLOGY (DFT)

DFT is the next generation of fuel standards, it is a mature liquid fuel technology of over 20 years in operation. Sustained higher oil prices and greater environmental awareness have now pushed Dipetane into demand.

DFT gives you:
  • fuel savings of an average of 5,000 per truck
  • a carbon foot print reduction of 10% minimum
  • extended engine and boiler life of 40% on average
Many International companies like COCA-COLA have been achieving the above benefits for 18 years.

Dipetane has many international accredited tests incl Chassis dynamometer and long term group control comparative testing, as well as 20 years of major company results.

DFT is the world’s first and only PRE COMBUSTION fuel technology which prevents the formation of CCD’s-combustion chamber deposits. The MIT study shows that CCD’s are the biggest cause of wasted fuel and increased emissions.

Regular CEO’s, CFO's, logistics directors and transport managers will have very little knowledge of the impact of CCD’s on their bottom line and their carbon footprint.

DFT is a generation ahead of all additised fuels including all additives and must not be confused with these. DFT is a pure 100% hydrocarbon liquid and as such it contains nothing that is not already in the host fuel.

Please see www.dipetane.com with direct links to some of our international operations, you can view our video also from our web site.

SAS

Predict and respond to environmental, social, and economic risks and opportunities

Organisational performance now requires sustainability measures across social, environmental and economic factors, which in turn requires the vital steps of integrating and analysing data to achieve new goals and transform internal organisational cultures.

The most strategic enterprises will use data, and the intelligence gained from it, to their competitive advantage – driving increased brand value through innovation, improving internal efficiencies and accountability, and engendering loyalty of consumers, employees and other stakeholders.

SAS, the leader in enterprise intelligence, has made available the first software application that helps organizations comprehensively measure and manage their impact on the planet. SAS believes that sustainability is a way of thinking and acting when making decisions, not a way of reacting after poor decisions have been made. To support this approach, SAS® for Sustainability Management helps organizations identify innovative strategies that help them respond to complex environmental, social, and economic situations.

SAS for Sustainability Management, which is based on SAS’ enterprise intelligence platform, uses the Global Reporting Initiative framework to report on indicators known as the Triple Bottom Line. These indicators relate to the three spheres of sustainability – environmental, social, and economic. It uses the predictive abilities of SAS to validate strategies, identify causal relationship and forecast improvement scenarios.

Tolerance International UK

Tolerance International-UK promotes tolerance and moderation between peoples, society and nature for the equal benefit of all and for future generations. Our vision is a world in which society recognizes and celebrates diversity and in which all people live in harmony with nature.

Our Environmental Justice Programme seeks to help the corporate sector reduce CO2 emissions. This decreases energy costs by up to 20% just in the first year. We further facilitate the offsetting of the surplus emissions to enable organisations to become fully Carbon neutral. This is done through reforesting 2 million hectares of the Upper Amazon Basin and the African rainforests. To quote Prince Charles rainforests are our fastest route to combat Global warming. This innovative programme combines corporate social responsibility with green credentials as it aims to eradicate poverty amongst the impoverished local communities in these regions.
