29-30 May 2008, Thistle Marble Arch, London
Practical Pre Conference Workshop, Wednesday 28 May 2008 - Evaluating Strategies For Communicating To Consumers On Carbon Footprint Measurement & Environmental Sustainability.

With many positive actions being taken to measure and reduce carbon emissions by retailers and consumer product manufacturers, the next question they are asking is exactly how they should be focusing their environmental efforts, and where the greatest investments into carbon reduction programmes should be made. If the retail and FMCG sector is to make the biggest impacts, not only within their operations but throughout their supply chain, which are the key environmental areas they should be examining – and if they are non-carbon, how do you measure? Where do you start? Where do you stop?
One year on, this groundbreaking summit has been designed to simplify the processes, presenting a toolbox to help businesses across the FMCG sector to prioritize their carbon and sustainability initiatives. We will be bringing together the latest methodologies for measuring across product lines and brands, deciding where to make the crucial reductions, analysing how to manage water usage, improve energy and fuel efficiency, and decipher the latest innovations in packaging and recycling from across the supply chain. Most significantly, we will be going back to the start of the life cycle, examining where the greatest emissions are in raw materials and looking at the development of a common and agreed methodology to mitigate impacts and work positively with agriculture.
For the first time, we will also be including Practical Interactive Working Groups, dedicated to: -
- Successfully Engaging With The Supply Chain On Carbon Reduction
- Defining Methodologies For Non Carbon-Based Emissions
- Reviewing consumer communications options including labelling
During a time when the risks and opportunities presented by so many growing environmental issues are becoming more apparent to investors and competitors alike, this is an essential, must attend event for all senior executives from retailers, FMCG manufacturers and suppliers from around the world. Attend this crucial event to prioritise your carbon agenda, target your investments correctly and experience the competitive advantages of developing your corporate environmental portfolio.
- WHAT Should You Be Doing Now To Reduce Your Carbon, Environmental & Energy Footprints?
- HOW Do You Measure It?
