Carbon Footprint Supply Chain 2008 follows our sell-out May (London) and September (Chicago) 2007 events, which attracted 200 senior executives from retailers, FMCG manufacturers and suppliers from around the world.
The 2008 event will bring together similar representatives from throughout the supply chain to define the key issues that businesses need to look at to drive the improvement of environmental performance. Carbon footprinting drives the improvement of carbon, while life cycle analysis will examine improvements in the use of non-renewable resources, GHG, water, waste and pollution.
But, what about other key criteria that we also need to measure, namely biodiversity? How do we develop a holistic approach based on life cycle analysis and biodiversity? How do we ensure these are the greatest environmental impacts most relevant to the specific product category?
This is a unique opportunity to benchmark sustainability strategies within a highly competitive industry. Attend this Summit to examine carbon within the wider sustainability framework to understand where are the greatest impacts – What needs to be measured? How do you focus your efforts across carbon, water, energy and packaging to achieve absolute reductions? What is the optimum mix of strategies?
Attend this summit to:
- Understand how to set the boundaries in product lifecycles and supply chains for accurate and verifiable carbon footprint measurement
- Learn where the greatest impacts are in agriculture and farming emissions – how can we work positively with the land?
- Understand the link between energy and water efficiency in your supply chain
- Establish the impact of production, packaging and distribution on your carbon footprint and the opportunities for the supply chain to gain increased cost-efficiency
- Break down the key carbon and environmental impacts across different food and drink categories – meat, dairy and seafood
- Examine the cost-effective tools for carbon reduction within your own operations and how to pass best-practice energy management on to your suppliers
- Understand the consumer impact on your carbon footprint and establish the key communication methods for positively affecting consumer habit to provide significant business benefit and competitive advantage
